Patric Hornqvist and Carl Hagelin Selected to Team Sweden’s World Cup Roster

Pittsburgh Penguins forwards Patric Hornqvist and Carl Hagelin were named to the Team Sweden roster for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey to take place in Toronto this September.

Both players have been instrumental to Pittsburgh’s march to the Stanley Cup Final. Hagelin ranks fifth on the team with 12 points (5G-7A), and Hornqvist places second the club with seven goals and sixth with 11 points.

Hornqvist eclipsed the 50-point mark for the third-straight season this year, tallying 22 goals, 29 assists and 51 points in all 82 contests.

Hagelin joined the Penguins at midseason via a trade with the Anaheim Ducks and went on to produce 27 points (10G-17A) in 37 games with Pittsburgh as one-third of the ‘HBK Line’ with Phil Kessel and Nick Bonino.
