NHL suspends Columbus' Dubinsky one game for cross-check on Penguins' Crosby

The NHL has suspended Columbus center Brandon Dubinsky for one game for cross-checking Penguins center Sidney Crosby Friday night.

He will sit out the Blue Jackets’ game in St. Louis tonight.

Dubinsky dropped Crosby by driving the shaft of his stick into the back of Crosby’s neck with 80 seconds left in the second period of the Blue Jackets’ 2-1 overtime victory against the Penguins at Nationwide Arena Friday night.

When Crosby was down on all fours, Dubinsky broke his stick with a cross-check to Crosby’s lower back.

Crosby missed the rest of the period and underwent the NHL’s concussion protocol, but was cleared to return for the third period.
