Dave Molinari's Penguins report card: A sub-par showing in victory

FORWARDS

Pro hockey is a bottom-line business and the Penguins won the game, but there is no excuse – or adequate explanation – for going 37 minutes without a shot, as they did for all of the second period and most of the third. In the process, they squandered a 3-0 lead, only to be saved when Jake Guentzel scored his league-leading 10th – and first since Round 2 – with 3:37 left in regulation. The Penguins entered the series with an obvious advantage at center and got three goals and three assists from guys at that position, but generating 12 shots barely is adequate for a period, let alone a game.
