Capitals lacking results despite aggressive play

For each of the past two games, Capitals players say they’ve been pleased with their effort and the way they’ve carried the play.

The only problem? They lost both games.

The Penguins’ 3-2 overtime win Wednesday night means the teams’ Eastern Conference semifinals series will go back to Washington for Game 5 Saturday night with the home team needing a win to keep its season alive.

“We know we’re happy with our urgency level, I think, the last couple of games,” Capitals defenseman Karl Alzner said. “We’ve been coming out hard and working hard. Haven’t quite got things to go our way, but it’s the same thing.
