Brian Dumoulin's deal is done; agent hopes Conor Sheary is next

Brian Dumoulin has a new contract, but the Penguins aren’t done with agent Lewis Gross.

Gross also represents Conor Sheary, the team’s second player who has filed for arbitration.

Sheary’s hearing is scheduled for Aug. 4, in Toronto, but Gross is hopeful the sides can go 2 for 2 in avoiding arbitration hearings this offseason.

“We’ve been working on Conor for a while,” Gross told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Monday morning. “We’ll get back at it [Tuesday]. Hopefully we’ll be able to make a deal on Conor as well.”

Dumoulin and the Penguins avoided arbitration by minutes with his extension that was announced Monday morning, one that will pay him an average annual value of $4.
