Bonino busts out of funk in interesting way

Perhaps it's appropriate that, in a wacky game like this, Nick Bonino scored twice without successfully beating a goaltender once.

Bonino struck in the first period of the Penguins' 5-3 victory over the Nashville Predators in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final on Monday with a one-handed backhand that he threw at the net, the puck bouncing off Pekka Rinne, Mattias Ekholm and in.

In the third, Bonino's empty-net goal sealed the deal.

On a night where Conor Sheary and Jake Guentzel snapped career-long scoring droughts, Bonino scored for the first time in 14 games dating back to Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.
