Pitt Panthers Give HC Pat Narduzzi A Two-Year Contract Extension

The Pittsburgh Panthers have extended head coach Pat Narduzzi's contract through the 2021 season, per a school announcement on Thursday. Financial terms of the two-year extension were not disclosed as of this writing.

"I plan to make Pittsburgh our home for a very long time, and we're glad the leadership at Pitt feels the same way," Narduzzi said in an official statement. "It is an honor to serve as Pitt's head football coach and I'm continuously energized by what we can, and will, accomplish here."

Pitt went 8-4 in Narduzzi's first season with the program, and will face a stacked Navy squad on December 28th in the Milltary Bowl. A former defensive coordinator under Mark Dantonio at Michigan State, Narduzzi led the program to their most wins in a regular season since 2009.

"Pat Narduzzi has adrenalized Pitt football on and off the field," athletic director Scott Barnes said. "We are proud of what our program has accomplished this season."

Despite losing reigining ACC Player of the Year James Conner to a knee injury in the season opener, Pitt went 6-2 in the ACC -- good enough for a second-place finish in the ACC Coastal Division.
