Suns Rumors Roundup: Interest In Cole Aldrich, Once Tried To Hire Brad Stevens?

The start of NBA free agency is nearly here and it's still unclear if the Phoenix Suns will make any major moves. They have some cap space, but the rumor mill around the team is mostly quiet. However, there are some rumblings. Here are all the latest Suns rumors and news and you need to know.

Suns Want Cole Aldrich?
The Suns aren't expected to make any major signings, but could look at a few under-the-radar moves. One of them is adding Clippers big man Cole Aldrich.

Aldrich isn't a starting-caliber big man, but does provide depth. He averaged 5.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last year in limited time.

Suns Tried To Land Brad Stevens
Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens is generally regarded as one of the better coaches in the NBA. But before Boston lured him away from Butler, the Suns tried to do the same.

"So yeah, we were at his kitchen table," Suns GM Ryan McDonough said on The Vertical podcast. "We were meeting with him about potentially coaching the Suns. Ultimately he decided at that time to stay at Butler, and then a month or two later he chose to go to the Celtics. But as far as how close it was or what his decision-making process was, you'd have to ask him about that. But we were sitting around his kitchen table discussing him potentially coaching the Suns in May of 2013."

The Celtics poached Stevens after Doc Rivers went to the Clippers. The Suns weren't able to land Stevens, but the future of the NBA would have looked drastically different if they had.
