Suns NBA Draft Rumors: Phoenix To Take Either Dragan Bender Or Jaylen Brown?

The Phoenix Suns hold the No. 4 and No. 13 overall picks in the NBA Draft, giving them a strong chance to draft a pair of players that will help their rebuilding effort. Most of the intrigue surrounding their draft plans come from the No. 4 pick, where they are entertaining a several prospects. Here's all the latest Suns draft news and rumors:

Suns targeting either Dragan Bender or Jaylen Brown?
Phoenix has been largely linked to both Maccabi Tel Aviv PF Dragan Bender and Cal SF Jaylen Brown throughout the draft process, and AZCentral Sports' Paul Coro thinks the Suns will take Bender:

Averaging 5.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 13.5 minutes per game of Israeli League play might not excite many but scouts are enthralled by Bender’s mix of skill, size, mobility, court savvy and drive. The Suns could use a stretch power forward and he has made 40 percent of his 3-point shots this season. He has more than an easy stroke. Drawing Toni Kukoc comparisons, he handles the ball and projects to be defensively versatile once he adds bulk.

However, the Celtics, who own the No. 3 pick, are also favoring Bender. If he's off the board, they will take Brown, according to Yahoo Sports' Jonas Nadar:

The Suns desperately need some help on the wings and Brown is the best small forward left on the board. I’m higher on Brown than most, mainly because he’s one of the best athletes in the draft and he’s already an excellent slasher. He could also become a lock-down defender in the NBA, but he does have a shaky jumper and I’d like to see him develop a 3-point shot. He reminds me so much of Stanley Johnson and should be an excellent fit next to Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight and Devin Booker.

Kris Dunn trying to avoid Phoenix?
Providence PG Kris Dunn is another top prospect that the Suns are considering, but Dunn is doing everything he can to avoid being drafted by Phoenix, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski:

Representatives for Providence’s Kris Dunn don’t want him to go to a team with a young point guard already in place and may refuse to release his medical records to the Celtics and Suns.

Dunn averaged 16.4 points, 6.2 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game last season.
