With former Bakersfield Jam head coach Nate Bjorkgren earning a promotion this summer, the Phoenix Suns have named a new head coach for their D-League affiliate.

Chris Jent, the lead assistant coach of former Sacramento Kings head coach Michael Malone, has been hired as Bjorkgren’s replacement to coach the Jam, the Suns announced Thursday. Jent spent the entire 2013-14 season and the first part of the 2014-15 season serving under Malone in Sac-Town.
He will become the fifth Bakersfield head coach in team history.
