Shorthanded goal sinks Coyotes in loss to Jets

WINNIPEG -- The power play kept the Coyotes afloat against the Jets.

And it also played a role in their undoing.

After tallying a pair of goals, the unit allowed a game-deciding shorthanded goal to fall 3-2 to the Jets Saturday at MTS Centre to conclude their four-game road trip with only two out of a possible eight points (1-3).

Jets winger Chris Thorburn raced to catch defenseman Michael Stone and the puck as it trickled into the Coyotes zone and after Thorburn picked up the puck, he skated in front of goalie Anders Lindback and lifted a backhand over him at 11:09 of the third period.
