Coyotes' woes continue with loss to Canadiens

MONTREAL – The early-season arrival of adversity hasn’t exactly flattered the Coyotes, who are winless since No. 1 goalie Mike Smith went down with what looks like a left knee injury.

But just because the unit is struggling in tough times doesn’t mean players aren’t able to impress.

Actually, more than a few had standout efforts Thursday even though the team suffered a 5-2 loss to the Canadiens at Bell Centre – perhaps the most difficult test to date.

Defenseman Shea Weber scored his first as a member of the Canadiens with a trademark one-timer, which stood up as the eventual game-winner, and goalie Carey Price made 27 saves for his first win of the season in his first game after missing the start of the season with the flu.
