Coyotes' Tobias Rieder has ankle surgery

Arizona Coyotes center Tobias Rieder had successful surgery on his ankle and should be ready for the 2017-18 season, the team announced Saturday.

The team said Rieder will need eight to 12 weeks to recover from the procedure.

Rieder suffered the injury playing for Germany in the world championships earlier this month.

He posted 16 goals and 18 assists for the Coyotes this season.
