The Coyotes continued to fill out their defense Saturday, signing free agent Luke Schenn to a two-year contract worth $2.5 million.

"We are very pleased to sign Luke to a two-year contract," General Manager John Chayka said in a statement released by the team. "He's a good, young defenseman and we feel we can optimize his performance here. He will be a solid addition to our blue line."

A right shot, Schenn tallied four goals and finished with 16 points in 72 games last season with the Flyers and Kings. Since being drafted fifth overall by the Maple Leafs in 2008, the 26-year-old has 28 goals and 128 points in 566 career games.
