Busy start helping Tobias Rieder find a rhythm

Coyotes winger Tobias Rieder didn’t skate in any exhibition games and has sat out twice in the regular season with injury.

But Saturday was the 35th game he’s appeared in since the offseason – a busy start that he credits for helping him find a rhythm so soon.

“There’s no better way jumping into a season,” he said.

Rieder played three games in September in Latvia with Germany in a qualification tournament for the 2018 Olympics – this after three exhibition games in Belarus and a camp in Germany. He then flew to Quebec City to prepare for the World Cup of Hockey, logging two preliminary games before dressing for all six of Team Europe’s tournament games.
