It was a tremendous 2016 campaign for Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Andre Blake. On Dec. 5 MLS revealed the 2016 MLS Best XI, recognizing the league’s top players at each position on the field as determined by media, MLS players and MLS club staff. Blake was named to the MLS Best XI.
The 2016 Allstate Goalkeeper of the Year was sensational for Philadelphia in 2016. The Jamaican international had a breakout season in 2016, recording 32 starts for the Union. The two matches Blake did not appear in for Philadelphia was due to his national team obligations where he started every match for Jamaica in the 2016 Copa America Centenario.
