"That's why I'm still confident. That's why I have a lot of patience," Franco said. "Because if you have only 60 at-bats, I have only [nine] strikeouts. If you put the ball in play and stroke the ball really good and hit it hard, you worry about stuff you can control."
Franco also is seeing more pitches, striking out less and walking more.
He is seeing 3.93 pitches per plate appearance this season compared to 3.56 last season. He is striking out once every 6.67 plate appearances compared to every 5.94 last season. He is walking once every 12 plate appearances compared to once every 15.
