A 30-60 Phillies team doesn’t profile as the typical buyer at the trade deadline, but with their large prospect and cash pools the team may be a sleeper for making a splash this season.
A team Philadelphia continues to be connected to is the Miami Marlins. They are currently in the process of being sold and may need to shed some of their financial burdens (i.e. major-league contracts) to help stay afloat. Two of their talented outfielders, Giancarlo Stanton and Christian Yelich, have both been linked to Philadelphia in potential trades.
This latest rumor between the two sides focuses on Yelich, Miami’s 25-year-old center fielder.
