Phillies Hammered In Rubber Match Vs. Marlins

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Philadelphia Phillies were shellacked on Wednesday afternoon in their rubber match against the Marlins in Miami.

After shutting out the Marlins 4-0 in game one of the series on Monday, the Phillies were held to just one run in the last two games, losing 11-1 on Wednesday. The lone Phillies’ run came in the 9th inning on a Cesar Hernandez double, his third hit of the day.

The Phils are now 4-9 since the all-star break, losing all four series they’ve played.

Phillies starter Zach Eflin allowed nine hits, seven earned runs, and four walks in just five innings of work, getting the lost.
