Chase Utley finally getting a day off leads today's Phillies news

In tonight's Phillies news update, Philadelphia Phillies star second baseman Chase Utley has been scuffling at the plate as of late, which perhaps makes Sunday's day off very timely for the perennial All-Star.

According to Erik Bacharach and Paul Hagen of MLB.com, "since May 18, his batting average has dropped 27 points, from .347 to .320. Over his last three games, Utley is 2-for-15 (.133)"

Utley's last day off was on April 22nd.

Manship to DL, Aumont called back up

After suffering a strained right quad trying to leg out an infield single in the bottom of the 13th on Saturday night, reliever Jeff Manship has been placed on the 15-day disabled list.

In corresponding moves, per Bacharach and Hagen, "right-hander Phillippe Aumont was recalled, and the contract of left-hander Cesar Jimenez was selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley."

"It's a work in progress down there," Aumont stated on his time in the minors. "Every day I was doing drills on the mound. It's all about being on the mound, for me. I think just doing that every day, I think I figured some things out. It's feeling much more comfortable, I'm not saying it's perfect. I feel like I'm getting there."
