Former Flyer Chris Pronger among Hall of Fame inductees

Former Flyer Chris Pronger, the towering, crease-clearing defenseman who played the game on the edge - and sometimes beyond - was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday.

Pronger, 40, called it "very humbling" to be included alongside the players and builders who were selected. "It's very exciting to think about becoming an honored member; it's certainly something I didn't expect while playing."

Nicklas Lidstrom, Sergei Fedorov, Phil Housley, Angela Ruggiero, Bill Hay, and Peter Karmanos Jr. were also named to the Hall. Hay and Karmanos were selected in the "builder" category.

The induction ceremony will be held Nov.
