Ronald Darby Picks Off Pass As Eagles Lead 3-0 After First Quarter

After the first quarter of play, the Eagles opened their preseason home opener on top of the Buffalo Bills 3-0. Quarterback Carson Wentz and Alshon Jeffery connected twice on short passes. New Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby picked off a pass intended for Anquan Boldin and returned it 48 yards.

Here’s what else happened:

• With 12:30 remaining in the first, safety Rodney McLeod deflected a pass from Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor that was intercepted by linebacker Mychal Kendricks at the Buffalo 10 yard line.

• After Wentz’s pass for Jeffery was well-defended on third-and-goal, kicker Caleb Sturgis knocked in a 24-yard field goal.
