Former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy and another ex-NFL player got into an argument with three off-duty cops over champagne in a night club that devolved into a brutal beatdown that landed two of the officers in the hospital early Sunday, according to incident reports.
The 2:45 a.m. incident, inside the Old City nightclub Recess on 2nd Street, remains under investigation. Police are seeking arrest warrants.
McCoy, now with the Buffalo Bills, former San Diego Chargers running back Curtis Brinkley and two other men allegedly assaulted the officers - including a sergeant - in a dispute over a bottle of champagne, according to police records.
