Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks asked management to trade him or release him after last season. Kendricks is still on the team.
“I asked for a trade, for sure,” Kendricks said Friday. “Their response was, ‘You’re young and you’re talented and we’re not into that.’ I took it like that.”
Kendricks, 26, is entering his sixth season with the Eagles. He played a career-low 27 percent of the defensive snaps last season, and his playing time percentage has decreased in all five years in Philadelphia. He’s now used only as a base-down linebacker, keeping him off the field in most passing situations.
