In total, the Eagles gave up 266 yards on 38 carries (7 yards per rush) against trap and draw concepts in 2016, performing significantly below the league average.
The defensive unit was far superior better against more traditional run concepts, allowing only 4.2 yards per carry, which was right around the league average.
Jim Schwartz’s aggressive, penetrating scheme was also vulnerable to misdirection (and the trap concept in particular) in Detroit.
