Waiting for the results of the scan on Ben Simmons broken right foot provided high anxiety for 76ers coach Brett Brown.
Simmons, who broke the foot during training camp, had the scan on Thursday at the Hospital of Special Surgery in New York.
The Sixers announced on Friday that Simmons, the NBA's No. 1 overall draft pick, won’t play at all this season after the scan revealed that his foot still hasn’t fully healed.
“It felt like your wife was having a baby, pacing around, wondering what is going to happen with the result of the scan, what is it going to be,” Browns said before Friday’s 120-112 win over the Washington Wizards at the Wells Fargo Center.
