It’s happening. The NBA draft is coming soon and 162 candidates have applied for early entry. Interested basketball players can submit their names to “test the waters” but still maintain NCAA eligibility by rescinding their application in writing by Thursday, June 23, 2016. As long as the player does not hire a basketball agent, they are permitted to change their minds.
Of the 162 names, two players from Vanderbilt are testing the waters: Wade Baldwin IV and Damian Jones.
The remaining group is fairly diverse and will no doubt be the topic of discussion in coming weeks.
