If there’s a constant in Penn State football’s starting lineup it’s speed. Every analyst has talked at length about the Nittany Lions’ deep threats. The receiving unit featured it all. Trace McSorley could throw to the 6-foot-3, 50-50 king in Saeed Blacknall or the big play creators and every down wide outs in Chris Godwin and DaeSean Hamilton in 2016.
Outside of the three bigger wideouts, a compact, quick-footed wide receiver made some nice plays in DeAndre Thompkins. As a sophomore last year, Thompkins showed he didn’t need size to fit the Nittany Lions’ offense. The fleet-footed receiver isn’t short by normal wide out standards, but in this towering corp he is.
