It’s no secret that the Nittany Lions have struggled on the offensive line over the past few seasons. Things were especially bad last season when the line allowed 10 sacks in the season opener against Temple. Several players from the line are returning from last season, including senior tackle Paris Palmer.
A native of North Carolina, Palmer came to Penn State in a bit of an unconventional manor.
He started in junior college before coming to Happy Valley. His 2014 season was played at Lackawanna College in Pennsylvania where he lined up at left tackle. He was rated as the top junior college offensive tackle and one of the best overall prospects at that level.
