Penn State Football Recruiting: Pair Of Targets Planning Visits

The Penn State Nittany Lions are turning up the heat on the recruiting trail during the offseason, and it's already paying dividends. Here's all the latest news and rumors surrounding Penn State's recruiting efforts:

Three-star ATH plans visit
Tariq Casto-Fields, a three-star athlete from Upper Marlboro, MD, told 247sports that he plans to visit Happy Valley for the Nittany Lions’ Lasch Bash recruiting barbecue on July 16.

Penn State is competing with Maryland at the top of his recruitment, but North Carolina and Virginia Tech are also in the mix.

The 6'1", 175-pounder is ranked as the No. 64 athlete and No. 765 overall prospect in the country.

2018 DT also planning Lasch Bash visit
Four-star defensive tackle P.J. Mustipher (Owings Mills, MD) is also planning to visit Penn State for the Lasch Bash on July 16, and he's someone PSU's coaching staff will be paying extra attention too. 

"I’ll be up there for the cookout,” said Mustipher. “I talked to coach Franklin and coach Spencer on the phone recently, we just talked it up and they said they really want me to come and play at PSU.”

Penn State offered him a scholarship last year, and he now has 17 total offers. The Nittany Lions are trying to catch Notre Dame and Tennessee in his recruitment, while Ohio State and Alabama are also factors. His brother, Sam, currently plays for the Fighting Irish.

Mustipher, a 6'4", 285-pounder, is ranked as the No. 4 defensive tackle and No. 24 overall prospect in the country.
