STOCKTON — It’s tempting to say the Pacific softball team was snake bit in its final game of the season. But the two snakes which showed up in the outfield at Bill Simoni Field were the least of the Tigers’ concerns.

They built big leads and gave up big rallies, and were allowed to get away with it once, but not twice. The Tigers beat UC Santa Barbara 6-3 in its first game of the day in the National Invitational Softball Championships regional, but gave up a four-run lead against Nevada and lost 9-8 to get eliminated on Wednesday.
