That mantra fueled the San Jose State softball team this year.
Despite not having a home facility, the Spartans won the Mountain West Conference and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. San Jose State opens against Cal State Fullerton in the UCLA Regional today in Los Angeles.
Peter Turner Jr., a Stockton native, led a group of young women who turned out to be as resilient and tough as he is. Turner grew up on Stockton’s east side. He’s about as straight-forward and hard-nosed as they come.
