STOCKTON — The 12th-seeded Quinnipiac women's basketball team is the underdog story of March – regardless of gender – and has earned the support of a friend from Connecticut. That friend just so happens to coach the biggest dynasty in NCAA women's history.
UConn, which has won a record 109 consecutive games, is coached by Geno Auriemma, who Quinnipiac coach Tricia Fabbri considers a friend and mentor. Auriemma proudly opened his sweatshirt to unveil a gray Quinnipiac T-shirt in his press conference on Friday, leading up to his team's Sweet 16 game against UCLA today.
