STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific Tigers men's basketball team and head coach Damon Stoudamire have signed center Namdi Okonkwo for the 2017-18 season. As a grad transfer from Portland State, Okonkwo will have one year of eligibility at Pacific.
Prior to redshirted during the 2016-17 season, the seven-foot Okonkwo played the 2015-16 season at Portland State and appeared in 15 games, averaging just over six minutes per game. He averaged 1.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and blocked 10 shots in 95 total minutes played in his lone season on the court with the Vikings.
Before transferring to Portland State, Okonkwo played two seasons at Western Wyoming Junior College where he averaged 8.
