STOCKTON – Two deserving basketball teams will battle with tenacity and mutual respect Monday night at Stockton Arena for a berth in the NCAA Women's Final Four.
And yet it's hard to not wonder what could have been.
Let's look at three pertinent figures regarding the Stockton Regional, which concludes with top-seeded South Carolina facing third-seeded Florida State:

u2012 2,588: Miles from Florida State's campus to Stockton.
u2012 84: Miles from Stanford's campus to Stockton.
There is much to be said for gratitude and Stockton should be infinitely grateful that the NCAA placed one of its four 2017 regional tournaments here.
