Sens goalie Condon quickly approaching Rhodes’ franchise record

OTTAWA — - Another day, another appearance for Ottawa Senators goaltender Mike Condon.

Sure, it was Saturday night with the spotlight shining ever so brightly on Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and the rest of the up-and-coming Toronto Maple Leafs, but it was also simply part of the same old, same old for Condon.

It’s often bizarre how a season can unfold.

Saturday’s game marked the 18th consecutive appearance for Condon as the super sub for Craig Anderson, fast approaching Damian Rhodes’ franchise record 25 straight appearances, set way back in 1996.

Condon won’t get ahead of himself, but there’s little reason to suspect he won’t also complete next week’s hat trick of road games against St.
