OTTAWA — The Hamburglar back to the scene of the crime next season?

Come on? Really?

It had to be a negotiating ploy, but Senators general manager Pierre Dorion is throwing out the possibility of Andrew “The Hamburglar” Hammond — who has one year left on his contract at $1 million — returning as the club’s backup next season because contract talks with goaltender Mike Condon have not been fruitful.

Scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, Dorion said Monday he will resume discussions with Condon’s camp this week after calling them off before the playoffs began in early April.
