Senators shut out Canucks to open trip with valuable two points

VANCOUVER - Thanks to Ryan Dzingel and Craig Anderson the Senators did something Tuesday night they hadn’t done in more than 12 years.

Celebrate a victory as they left Rogers Arena.

Led by Dzingel’s two-goal effort and strong performance by Anderson, the Senators reversed the curse and scored their first win in the building since March 13, 2004 with a 3-0 victory over the Vancouver Canucks to open one of their long road trips of the season with two points.

While Dzingel put this away with his second by beating Ryan Miller after a perfect setup from Bobby Ryan at 2:12 of the third period, Anderson had his best effort of the season with his first shutout on the year by making 22 stops as the Senators played strong defensively by giving up only three shots in the third.
