Ottawa Senators send three players back to junior teams

The Senators have started to trim their training camp roster.

Three junior eligible players — including 2016 No. 1 pick Logan Brown of the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires — were among those sent back to their teams Wednesday morning. Prospects Filip Chlapik of the Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL) and Max Lajoie of the Swift Current Broncos (WHL) were also returned.

That leaves 48 players in the club’s camp with the regular season set to get underway Oct. 12 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. However, forwards Mark Stone and Clarke MacArthur are both out with concussions while winger Curtis Lazar has yet to participate in camp because of mononucleosis.
