As the Senators try to get back into a playoff position, they had a rare visit from GM Bryan Murray Wednesday.
His message to them was simple: He appealed to their sense of pride.
Though he hasn’t done it a long time, Murray met with the Senators because with the club in the stretch drive he wants Ottawa to get back into a playoff position. That’s what Murray — along with many others — expected.
“I don’t know if soft-spoken is the accurate word but when (Murray) speaks you listen up and it’s quiet,” centre Zack Smith told Postmedia Network before Thursday’s visit by the Edmonton Oilers.
