On the long list of reasons the Senators hired Guy Boucher as their coach was his history with their top goal scorer, still a relatively new player in the league who is expected to only get better.
It’s not like they were catering to Mike Hoffman — signing Boucher was all about what’s best for the team — but in the process they also very much pleased their No. 1 left winger.
On Thursday, in his first interview since Dave Cameron’s successor was announced almost two weeks earlier, Hoffman said he “loved every minute” of the two seasons he had under Boucher with the Drummondville Voltigeurs in the QMJHL.
