Curtis McElhinney comes back to haunt Senators

A total of 41 players suited up for the Senators in the 2010-11 season and Curtis McElhinney was one of them.

It was a horrible time for the Ottawa team as it finished with 74 points, the lowest total since 1995-96.

McElhinney’s stay was forgettable. He played in seven games, started six, won three.

Fast forward to Saturday night’s game at Canadian Tire against the arch rival Toronto Maple Leafs. The Senators might have thought they were catching a break when Mike Babcock named McElhinney his starter after No. 1 goalie Frederik Andersen led Toronto to a 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Friday.
