Patrick Wiercioch was having a quiet conversation with a couple of reporters at his stall Sunday morning when suddenly he looked up and saw a half dozen TV cameras and twice as many microphone holders waiting to cut in.
How do you like this part of the playoff experience, Pat?
"Not a huge attention guy," he said.
Wiercioch brought it upon himself with two goals and four points in the first five games tying him for the team lead in both categories. The offensive outburst probably caught a lot of people by surprise -- Wiercioch would have been picked in only the deepest of playoff pools -- as he had just three goals and 10 assists in 56 games during the season.
