Like most teams, especially underachievers, the Orlando Magic were the subject of plenty of speculation and rumors around Thursday’s trade deadline.
The team dealt forward Serge Ibaka to the Toronto Raptors about 10 days prior to the Feb. 23 deadline, and many wondered whether they were shopping Nikola Vucevic, Elfrid Payton, Jeff Green, D.J. Augustin and others.
The Magic also were widely rumored to be seeking a point guard – perhaps Reggie Jackson of the Detroit Pistons or Brandon Knight of the Phoenix Suns were on the table.
