This past weekend in Auburndale the Orlando City Youth Soccer Club Girls 2004 pre-ECNL team conquered their quest for a State Championship with a 2-0 win over defending champion Tampa Bay United. The journey to the finals took an exciting turn the day before in the State Championship semi-finals, when the girls beat Weston pre-ECNL 1-0 on a game winning goal with just seven minutes left in the match.
In the final, after a tense start, the team settled and scored via a superbly executed counter attack with ten minutes left in the first half to take a 1-0 halftime lead.
