Debates rage on about whether Friday night’s matchup is a rivalry. During the past week, bickering between fan bases increased and social media wars waged. And then there was a billboard.

Rivalry or not, the first meeting between Orlando City (8-7-5, 29 points) and expansion side Atlanta United (9-7-3, 30 points) should be a spirited affair given all the build-up. The 7 p.m. game at Orlando City Stadium will be nationally televised on ESPN.

“Atlanta is an extremely dangerous and dynamic attacking team,” Lions coach Jason Kreis said. “Some really, really good options in there, and their four players who play highest up the field for them are very dangerous.
