CORVALLIS — Seth Collins went blazing toward the right sideline during Wednesday's practice inside Reser Stadium, stretching out to make a diving catch while managing to stay in bounds. Then the Oregon State true freshman stood up and hollered some words of celebration that would not exactly be classified as PG.
Collins has unexpectedly returned to the Beavers this week and looks primed to play in Friday's Civil War at No. 17 Oregon after recovering from a hyperextended left knee sustained last month. Also unexpected is his new position, receiver, where coaches hope his dynamic speed and athleticism — and fiery on-field demeanor — will translate as a playmaker for a Beavers offense still looking to find any consistent traction entering the final contest of 2015.
