AUSTIN, Tex. – Redshirt sophomore Venessa D'Arpino broke her own school record in the 200 meters on Friday at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships at the University of Texas.

D'Arpino placed fourth in her heat and 26th overall in 23.60 to eclipse her old mark of 23.63, set at the Fresno State Bulldog Invitational on April 22. She was ranked 44th and beat her seeding by 18 places, but just missed out on advancing to the quarterfinals by .08 seconds, as the final qualifier finished in 23.52.

It was the sixth time this season D'Arpino set the school record.
