The NCAA Division I college track rankings issued weekly by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross are done by a computer, which perhaps explains some things about what happened this week.
The University of Oregon women's program dropped from its season-long perch atop the women's ranking to No. 2.
The UO men slid all the way from No. 3 to No. 13.
The Texas A&M women and men both are ranked No. 1.
I still believe the UO women are in position not only to win the NCAA outdoor title, but win it going away.
