Storms Delay NCAA West Prelims

LAWRENCE, Kan. – After only a few hours of competition, severe storms suspended action at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds at the University of Kansas, Thursday.

Greg Skipper was able to record one attempt in the men’s hammer throw before competition was cut short. Skipper currently sits third with a mark of 226-1 (68.93m).

The delays also caused a change in format, with all running events now being contested as quarterfinals, bypassing the first round. The 100, 200, 400, 800 and hurdles events will all advance the winners of each heat plus the next six fastest times straight to Eugene for the NCAA Championships.
